The “Seriously?!-this-is-meant-for-me” Project

You guys, I’m going to be on TV!

Ok, probably not, but I AM applying to be on the possibly-too-good-to-be-true (working title) The Handmade Project hosted by my literal favorite TV characters Leslie Knope and Ron Swanson from Parks & Recreation as their real world alter egos Amy Poehler and Nick Offerman (10 bonus points to whoever can name another Team SEQer who has applied for reality TV…).

Anyway, some of you may know I’m a bit of a craft aficionado, enjoy the occasional birthday party theme, and meticulously curated swag bag. Custom t-shirts, YES PLEASE!!! I tend to err towards the practical, and you know there’s a timeline and checklist involved 😉

As a Visual Arts major in college it was literally my job to make things all day (sigh). Since then I’ve been a bit busy developing my career in events, co-founding Sequence, and now as a new mom it’s sometimes hard to find the time to break out the olde sewing machine. However, I realize now more than ever that making time for a creative outlet spills over immeasurably into my daily life at home and at Sequence. Plus, it’s super fun!

So, fingers crossed and I’ll keep you posted 😉

Some of my favorite projects:

Upper / left bouquets for a friend’s wedding. Middle / left props for an 80s-themed NYE party photo booth. Bottom / left SWAG  for my own “Camp Lizz” themed birthday weekend. Upper / right He-Man & She-Ra pillows for our very own Sr. PM Erin Rynn’s twins. Middle / right baby leggings from a recent sewing class at Brooklyn Craft Company. Bottom / right rainbow unicorn horns for my daughter’s 1st birthday party last weekend.
